How to order custom tees from a shop in another state

Battle Born Clothing is one shop in Yerington, Nevada, and most of our tee orders ship to people who will never visit it. That works because the parts that matter, the price, the proof and the date, all happen in writing. Here is the whole process, with the honest trade-offs.

Step 1: send the basics in one message

Use the quote form. Quotes usually go out the same business day from the published schedule, with the blank, the decoration and one-time fees listed separately.

Step 2: proofing by email

Before anything is printed you get a digital proof by email: your art on the shirt color, at the size we intend to print, with placement measurements and the stitch count if it is embroidery. Nothing is produced until you approve it in writing.

What to check on the proof

  1. Spelling, phone numbers, web addresses and dates. Read them out loud.
  2. The logo version: old logos hide in email signatures.
  3. Print size and placement. A 10-inch-wide front print is a full chest; 3.5 to 4 inches is a left-chest logo.
  4. Ink or thread colors against your brand colors.
  5. Shirt color and style number.

Changes at proof stage are free. A typo on an approved proof is a new run, so this step is where a remote order is won or lost.

Step 3: sizing without try-ons

Nobody can try on a shirt in our shop from three states away, so sizing comes from three sources.

Cut matters as much as size. A PC61 is a classic, roomy fit; a PC450 runs slimmer. The tee weight and fit guide compares them. Sizes 2XL and up carry the supplier upcharge, so the roster also fixes the price.

Step 4: production

Standard turnaround is 28 days from proof approval. That covers ordering blanks from SanMar or S&S Activewear, screen or stitch-file setup, printing or embroidery, curing, folding and packing. Many jobs finish sooner; we quote 28 so the date holds. Rush is quoted per job; see rush custom tees.

Step 5: shipping and arrival dates

Typical UPS Ground transit from northern Nevada, business days after the order ships
Ship-to regionTypical transit
Nevada, California, Oregon1-2 days
Washington, Idaho, Utah, Arizona2-3 days
Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico3-4 days
Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, the Dakotas, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri4-5 days
Rest of the Midwest, the South and the East Coast5 days

Add the transit for your region to the 28 days and you have your in-hand date. Shipping is quoted with the order and you get a tracking number when the box leaves. If someone has to sign or the address is a business with set receiving hours, tell us.

Example: 48 shirts to Ohio, no rush
WhenWhat happens
Day 0You send art, count, sizes and the date
Day 0-1Quote back, usually same business day
Day 1-3Digital proof by email; you approve or request changes
Day 3Proof approved; 28-day clock starts
By day 31Shirts ship UPS Ground
About 5 business days laterShirts in hand in Ohio

Step 6: when the box arrives

Count the shirts and check sizes against the packing list the day it arrives. If we printed the wrong thing, missed a size or shipped a defect, Battle Born Clothing reprints it free. If the approved proof had the typo, we will help, but it is a new run.

Reorders

Tell us the date of the last order. We keep the art and the digitized embroidery file, so embroidery reorders pay no setup. Screen print reorders pay screens again because screens are reclaimed after each job.

Questions

Do I need to call?

No. The quote form and email are the whole process.

Can you ship to an address other than mine?

Yes. The venue, the office or a relative's house in any state. Extra ship-to addresses are quoted with the order.

What if a size is wrong because someone guessed?

Order a few extra in the middle sizes. Swaps for the customer's sizing are a new order; our errors are reprinted free.
