How much do custom t-shirts cost?
Short answer: a heavyweight cotton tee with a one-color logo on the front is $10.38 each at 48 pieces on a white shirt, $10.63 on a dark one, plus one $20 screen. Add a one-color back print and a dark shirt is $15.22 plus $40 in screens. Here is where every number comes from and what moves it. Same prices in every state.
The price is the blank plus the decoration
Battle Born Clothing lists both parts. The blank is the shirt at our published price: supplier cost times two when the cost is under $10, cost plus 35% when it is $10 or more. Our hero blank, the Port & Company PC61, is $6.04. The decoration is a per-piece rate that depends on the method and the quantity. One-time fees (screens, digitizing) are listed separately so you can see what a reorder costs.
Screen print at 48 pieces
| Job | Blank | All-in each | Screens (one-time) | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 color, front, light shirt | $6.04 | $4.34 | $10.38 | $20 |
| 1 color, front, dark shirt (flash) | $6.04 | $4.59 | $10.63 | $20 |
| 1 color front + 1 color back, light shirt | $6.04 | $8.68 | $14.72 | $40 |
| 1 color front + 1 color back, dark shirt | $6.04 | $9.18 | $15.22 | $40 |
The $0.25 difference between light and dark is the flash: on a dark shirt we print a white underbase and flash-cure it so the top color stays bright. Each extra ink color adds a $20 screen and raises the per-piece rate, quoted for the job. Quantities other than 48 are quoted per job; more shirts means the screens are spread thinner and the per-piece rate comes down.
Embroidery at every quantity break
| Quantity | Blank | Embroidery | All-in each |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1-11 | $6.04 | $12.00 | $18.04 |
| 12-23 | $6.04 | $6.00 | $12.04 |
| 24-47 | $6.04 | $6.00 | $12.04 |
| 48-59 | $6.04 | $5.50 | $11.54 |
| 60-79 | $6.04 | $4.50 | $10.54 |
| 80+ | $6.04 | $4.00 | $10.04 |
Embroidery has no screens, so it is the cheapest decoration at small quantities and a uniform look at any quantity. Add $18.99 digitizing once per design. Breaks are at 12, 24, 48, 60 and 80 and count across the whole order, polos and hoodies included.
DTF transfers
Quoted per job. No setup fee, full color, and the right call under 48 pieces or for photo-style art. Transfers come from a Carson City partner and are pressed in our shop. For a 12-shirt family reunion run, DTF is almost always cheaper than screens.

What moves the price
- Quantity. Screens are fixed; 48 shirts split $20 into $0.42 each, 144 split it into $0.14. Embroidery drops at every break.
- Ink colors. Each color is a screen and a pass. One color is the cheapest shirt there is.
- Locations. Front and back doubles the print cost. A sleeve is a third location.
- Shirt choice. A PC61 is $6.04. A Comfort Colors 1717 costs more and is quoted per job. A Gildan 64000 costs less.
- Sizes. 2XL and up carry the supplier upcharge, usually $1 to $7 by size.
- Dark vs light. $0.25 per location for the flash on darks.
What does not move the price
Your state. Ohio, Texas, California and Nevada pay the same per-shirt price; only UPS Ground shipping differs, and pickup in Yerington, NV is free by appointment. Your order size does not change the proof, the thread or the ink either.
How to get an exact number
Send the art, the count, the shirt color and the sizes through the quote form. We price it from this schedule, usually the same business day, and send a digital proof before anything is printed. Full schedule on the pricing page.
Questions
Is there a minimum order?
No hard minimum. Screen print is recommended at 48 and up; under that we price DTF or embroidery.
Do prices include shipping?
No. UPS Ground shipping is quoted with the order; it typically takes 1 to 5 business days depending on your region. Pickup in Yerington, NV is free by appointment.
Does a reorder pay screens again?
Yes, screens are reclaimed after each job and set up again from your kept files. Digitized embroidery files are kept, so embroidery reorders pay no setup.
